With Christmas just slightly over a month away (yes, you’ll be seeing this line quite often from now till 25 December), most, if not all of you would have already started planning appropriate X’mas gifts. And because it’s no fun just shopping for others, here’s a selection of droolworthy Gucci bags from Alessandro Michele’s Cruise 2016 collection that you can pick from. With most of the bags already in stores at Gucci boutiques islandwide, the hard part is deciding what to gift who and what to get for yourself.
First up, the Animalier Leather Shoulder Bag (SGD3500) that’s shown above. Measuring 27 cm by 16 cm, it’s a full leather beauty lined with Gucci’s Herbarium print and finished with the most interesting of details: a knotted leather sling and an antiqued feline head that’s also the bag’s clasp. Many colours are available including Black and Brown that’s shown above, along with another in Purple.

Another bag that’s new is the Padlock, and why it’s called as such is pretty obvious, right? Made in full leather or half leather variations that come with the GG supreme canvas, the small sling (it measures 20 cm by 12.5 cm) is the perfect party companion; just wear it across the body and disco the night away. Priced at SGD2280 and SGD1940 respectively for the full leather and half leather versions, you could also go all out and get the one that comes hand-embroidered with bee and strawberry appliqués.

A bag that was featured here before, the Dionysus Arabesque that comes in GG supreme canvas overlaid with an elaborate leather cut-out featuring the most beautiful of florals. Available in Black or Red (shown above), this beauty is yours to bring home for SGD4400.

For something that’s a tad more functional but no less pretty, check out the Reversible GG Blooms Leather Tote (SGD1670), which as the name suggests, allows you to wear it either side. On one side you have the GG Blooms motif on the GG supreme canvas, on the inner side, you have leather in an antique rose hue which means you can use it for both work or play.

Last but not least (for now anyway), a bag that’s happily still around since it was launched during the tenure of its previous Creative Director. Known simply as the Lady Web, she’s back this Christmas trimmed in gorgeous Hibiscus Red, a stunning hue that’s just perfectly festive as well. Priced at SGD2590, the 25 cm by 18.5 cm bag was, and still is, one of my all-time favourites from Gucci of late.
