Montblanc makes pens for the everyday user, Montblanc makes pens for the astute collector. But in the case of Montblanc’s new Leo Tolstoy Writers Edition, you could say it’s made specially for both. Released every year to celebrate the greatest icons in literary history, this year’s tribute is rightfully bestowed on Russian author Leo Tolstoy, whose works, including War And Peace and Anna Karenina, are recognised as some of the world’s most important novels.
Ornately Russian with references to Tolstoy’s family estate Yasnaya Polyana, the shape of the caps resemble the pillars to the entrance of his home. The colours of the pen, from the dark grey on the cap to the blue marbled cone and platinum-plated fittings pay homage to his novels’ covers and his study, with the author’s signature engraved on the cap.
Available in ballpoint, fountain and rollerball variations, they are limited to 12,000, 9000 and 7000 pieces respectively, with a special edition offering of all 3 limited to just 1600 box sets. Now available at Montblanc boutiques islandwide, you can check out these fine instruments and be inspired whilst using them as you write your own great novel.
