Van Cleef & Arpels: #PierreArpels

The concept of time is pretty simple if you looked at it as a measure in which events can be ordered from the past through the present into the future (or that’s what Wikipedia says anyway), which is why time measurement devices (we call them watches these days) were invented in the first place, as a way of telling us the ‘when’ on any given day.

And then there’s the #PierreArpels campaign, which invited bloggers and personalities from around the world to interpret time as they saw it for a watch that displayed dual time, the Ici (the ‘here‘), and the Ailleurs (the ‘elsewhere’). To put it simply, where one is, and where one could be, at any given time. Submitting snapshots to the campaign that for me interpreted the concept of the ‘here’ and the ‘elsewhere’ wasn’t the hard part, the hard part was remembering the past while reminiscing the present, the reality of ‘here’ versus the wanting of being ‘elsewhere’.

What is your here, and what is your elsewhere?
