You’ll know spring has sprung when Chanel starts releasing their S/S15 collection into boutiques, and with the first drop expected sometime next week, it’s time again to see which ones will end up in our own collections where they’ll be loved for a long time to come.
First up, the pouches you saw on the runway that officially have no name (we’ll just call them the ‘shiny ones’ for now). Available in 2 different materials (the ones in black come in distressed calfskin, while the ones in gold come in metallic lambskin), as far as sizes go you’ll also have 3 to choose from, the Small which comes in at 23.5 cm by 17.5 cm (SGD1410), the Medium (27.5 cm by 20 cm, SGD1600) and of course, the Large (37 cm by 25.5 cm, SGD1960).
And depending on what you’ll be using them for (the medium ones are good for an iPad Mini, while the large pouch should fit an 11″ MacBook Air), do note that they all also come with a conveniently-placed hand strap in the front of the pouch. As well as a dangling CC charm, which just adds to the whole retro-hippie vibe, if you ask me.
For those amongst you adverse to anything shiny, fret not. Technically a tablet holder, this is a herringbone-stitched lambskin clutch-of-joy that you could use for most anything so long as it will fit into its 24 cm by 16.5 cm size. Featuring a zip that opens three quarters of the way around the clutch, you’ll find matching zipped wallets that will go perfectly with this SGD1960 clutch.
Last but by no means least, the perennial zip pouches (or clutches) that started it all. Available in a variety of colours/materials since they were first released way back when, this season sees the return of quilted lambskin pouches that come with a contrasting zip pull. Also the most affordable of the lot, this one, that measures 28 cm by 20 cm, will set you back by just SGD1070, for example. Time for a new clutch, perhaps?
