Consider this a long overdue post, but one that’s also apt with the Lunar New Year just around the corner. The most iconic of all the bags from Spanish luxury house Loewe, the Amazona was given a J.W.Anderson update when he took over the reigns in 2013. Based on the trapezoidal silhouette of the original that was first launched in 1975, it’s also taller than it previously was, with a look that’s best described as a cross between hipster-cool and retro-luxe.
Available in 4 sizes, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, the first 2 sizes come with the added bonus of a shoulder sling, while the Extra Large which is designed for the boys is more a carryall/overnighter type of bag. Besides calf napa and suede, some of the bags will also come in engraved calf, which is in my opinion the hardiest of the lot with the leather that comes with embossed logos.
Price wise, they are pretty competitive too, with the smallest of the lot starting at SGD2890. The one above in Medium (29 cm by 24 cm) retails for SGD3590, followed by SGD3390 for the Large and SGD4390 for the Extra Large.
So why is the one shown above apt for CNY? Well, besides the fact that it comes in red that’s also finished with lots of gold-tone hardware, its roomy interior also guarantees enough space for mandarin oranges and red packets, which also means it will translate well later on when you use it for work or play.
