With us barely days into 2015, Montblanc has launched a new watch (well, it’s not exactly the watch that’s new, but more on that later) to help us, well, be more than we can be. No, I’m not just mumbling gibberish. I’m actually talking about the new Urban Speed e-Strap, which is actually a small device that’s attached to the strap of the timepiece. Essentially an integrated technology device, the Urban Speed e-Strap allows you to do many things, from being informed of notifications to tracking your activity levels or reading text messages, which will work a breeze once it’s connected to its app, which can be used with selected Android and iOS smartphones.
And that’s not all. It can also be activated to snap pics with your smartphone, view incoming calls and even play music, so it’s basically a niftier extension of your mobile device which can be worn on your wrist.
Which is all fine and good, considering that this won’t be the first time such a device is available in the market that either comes on its own or integrated into a timepiece. What piqued my interest more is the line of TimeWalker watches that are being offered with this device, collectively known as the TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap.
Take the TimeWalker Urban Speed Chronograph (shown above), for instance. Featuring a stealth black DLC case that comes detailed in racer red, it’s finished with another Montblanc creation, the Extreme Leather Strap that looks like carbon but is actually leather that’s treated to be abrasion-resistant, water-repellent and fireproof. In other words, this is one timepiece that scores high on both brains and brawn, which makes it a keeper for sure.
How much is the price for this watch?
