New year. New shoes to covet. From the Spring-Summer 2015 Mens Burberry Prorsum collection comes the Field Sneaker, which could be a case of either being too little too late or better late than never.
Let me explain. With every luxury house pushing out more and more designer sneakers in the last few years, Burberry’s one of the last fashion houses to have launched a pair of sneakers on the runway, making their debut in the S/S15 mens show last year. And maybe because of that, Burberry also made sure they put in whatever they’ve got onto the shoes, resulting in colour combinations and patterns that look like a Dulux Paint store exploded all over your feet.
Known simply as the Field Sneaker, here’s what you need to know about them. Available in 3 variations, you’ve got the full-leather ones that come in Book Cover Print (that’s the runway print) that are priced at SGD1025 a pair. Then there are the leather and mesh ones that come in at least 4 colour combos; those are SGD950 a pair. Last but not least, the solid colour ones in leather and mesh that come in either Black, Red or White, which are SGD850 a pair.
All made in Italy with a 100% rubber grip sole, I do love the ones in the runway print but those could be a tad seasonal. The ones in solid hues, while nice, are well, just a tad too normal for 800 bucks. Which leaves the multi-coloured leather and mesh ones. Which are also the ones I want. What do you think?
And if the ladies want to get in on the action as well, how about some Book Cover Print cotton ballerinas at SGD725 a pair?
