For every lustworthy Boy Chanel and must-buy Flap that comes out with each new seasonal collection, there will be at least one of these. Which I reckon is the universe’s way of ensuring that Chanel doesn’t become too perfect, because that would mean that we only really need one luxury designer brand in the world, wouldn’t it?
Jokes aside, I can see where Karl Lagerfeld was going with the Embellished Pompoms Fabric Flap Bag which is from the Paris-Dubai (Cruise 2015) collection. Inspired by the traditional costumes worn by nomadic tribes in that part of the world, it comes brightly-hued, each knotted cotton pompom more colourful than the next. Probably priced at a cost that’s equivalent to a large herd of milk-producing goats, you could always check out the other gorgeous bags from this collection if this is not to your taste, from the Pearl-Shaped Plexiglas Minaudiere to my favourite jerry cans that come as a clutch in plexiglas or as an actual-working water container (you could just fill it with wine if you so wish) that comes swathed in quilted leather.
Or you could just be really safe and check out the new quilted caviar Flap bags that come in a soft pearl hue or the one that’s bronzy-gold. Both beautiful and now available at Chanel boutiques locally.
