From the woman who can do no wrong as far as her RTW and bags are concerned, here comes two new bags from her Spring-Summer 2015 Womens Céline collection that should be in boutiques really soon. First up, the Bumbag, which as the name suggests, is really just a bumbag. Made of natural calfskin that comes lined with suede, the 25 cm by 15 cm bag should sit pretty on your hips and look great matched with a minimalist look. Priced at EUR1200, it will come in variety of colours including Black, Burgundy and White.
And then there’s the Ring which I’m hoping to check out for myself soon. As far as the images go, it’s more or less a trapezoid block that comes with its own long top handle, extended zip pulls and what looks like slightly expandable sides, much like her now iconic Trapeze.
Named the Ring, I think due to the single hardware ring detailing on the front of the bag, it will come in single size for now, the Medium, which measures 35 cm by 25 cm. Available in the ‘tougher’ bullhide calfskin or the ‘softer’ grained calfskin, it is priced at EUR1600, affordable by most standards and especially on a bag from Céline. Besides Indigo, it will also come in White or Burnt Orange, which also happens to be the best hue on the Ring in my personal opinion.
For all you canvas lovers out there, good news as well. Céline will also be launching the Edge, the Luggage Phantom and the Trapeze in this hardy material. Besides being cheaper, they will all come with rainbow detailing that goes down the front of the bag (it’s officially known as the Multicolour Textile) for the much-needed pop of colour on an otherwise drab textile. Priced at EUR1300, EUR1400 and EUR1450 for the Edge, the Luggage Phantom and the Trapeze respectively, these 3 will also be the ones flying off the shelves the fastest so please get yourself on the wait list pronto.
Now excuse me while I go give my SA a call. One Luggage Phantom in Multicolour Textile, please?
