When all you’ve got to offer year in year out is your weaved intrecciato leather, it pays to be a tad clever with the bag’s design, and in case of the Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Nappa Convertible, it’s one that’s both creative and fun. Not a new style by any chance, the bag does trump in the way it’s designed and the couple of ways you can wear it. Measuring 40 cm across by 34 cm in height, it’s a decent size by any standard, but the magic comes from one of the two ways you can carry it.
How, you ask? When the sides are ‘pinned down’, it takes the form of a bulbous duffle, sorta like a cross between a Speedy and a Boston. And when the sides are unclasped (and with the shoulder sling attached), the shape completely changes and you could easily wear it across the shoulder like a sling/tote bag. In other words, it’s really two different bags for the price of one.
Priced at GBP2100 online via Net-A-Porter, it’s especially attractive in colours like Rosa (shown above), and you’ll also find it in colours like Ciel (a light baby blue), along with others in Aubergine and Nero. Great for work or play (or rather, both work and play), I’m pretty sure that as much as you’ll have to pay for this, this is also one of those bags you’ll be using for a long while to come, which sorta evens itself out, no?
