If Burberry Prorsum’s S/S15 mens collection was all about the large satchels and oversized printed leather notebooks, then as far the womens collection is concerned, it was the exact opposite, with a tiny bag called the Mini Bee anchoring most of the runway presentation.
A new addition to Burberry that was inspired by a bag from British house’s archives, the Mini Bee (as the name suggests) is small, measuring 21 cm across by 16 cm and topped off with a pair of longer-than-normal top handles. It comes with its own sling, and depending on the variation you finally decide on, could either come in hand-painted leather, in denim or my personal favourite, the Mini Bee in Horseferry check that’s woven from jacquard before it is screen-printed with a contrasting colour border.
Available now for pre-orders online till 29 September 2014, you will also be able to get it personalised with your own initials on the inside, which in my opinion is always a nice touch. And because I haven’t yet been to the re-see which is due to happen in a few hours’ time, I’ll be back with another post with more details and behind-the-scenes snaps that I’ll share on Instagram.
For now you could always head to Burberry online for a look, where besides the bags which start from SGD3595 and up for the Mini Bee, you’ll also see Christoper Bailey’s take on the denim jacket, pick up a cashmere scarf or decide on which of the two nail polish sets to buy.
