Proving once again that timeless style transcends the decades is the new Gucci Jackie Soft collection that will be the Italian house’s main bag offering for F/W14. Inspired by the original Jackie bag first launched in 1958 that quickly became a favourite of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (and subsequently named after her), the new collection features a reinterpreted hobo much like the one she wore back then, along with the distinct piston clasp that’s this particular style’s signature.
And because Creative Director Frida Giannini understands that modern women today like to have their cake and eat it too, the Jackie Soft collection features 5 distinct styles, from the hobo where it all started, to new additions including a roomy tote, a sassy shoulder sling, a fuss-free clutch, and last but not least for the working woman on the go: a smart briefcase.
Also featured heavily in Gucci’s upcoming F/W14 ad campaign, the muted pastel hues the bags come in are refreshing, nothing too bright or bold, just easy-to-match colours that will work with most wardrobes. Whether it’s the hobo that will cradle nicely on the side of your hips or the huge tote that’s a great work/gym bag combo, you can now view the first allotment of new arrivals that are in boutiques locally.
Prices start from SGD3460 for the Jackie Soft Hobo all the way to SGD36,160 for the large hobo in lush exotic croc. You just need to find something to fall in love with, which shouldn’t be hard given the number of different bag styles and colours it comes in.
