While it’s one thing to simply slap florals onto an icon and pray that it turns out fine (because in reality, many don’t), it’s another to do it so beautifully. Taking nothing away from the Lady Dior, yet giving her a much-needed lift, is Raf Simons’ modern interpretation of Monsieur Dior’s garden which had many different blooms.
From roses to cosmos to alstroemeria blooms, you’ll find them given the graphic treatment and printed onto bags, SLGs and even footwear, a tribute to Christian Dior and celebrating Simons’ ongoing love affair with all things floral.
Available on a variety of bags from the Diorissimo to the Lady Dior, no guesses on my personal favourites. Measuring 24 cm by 20 cm (SGD6100) and 17 cm by 15 cm (SGD4400) respectively for the ones in medium and small, the florals are printed on deerskin leather, which would also explain that slightly grainy (and therefore a tad more hardy) texture.
And then there are the SLGs, or in this case, the Croisière Wallet and the Diorissimo Escapade Wallet. Priced at SGD1600 and SGD1400 respectively, the Croisière Wallet is a joy to use, especially if you need a small evening bag from time to time that’s also actually functional on the inside.
Now available at Dior boutiques island-wide, you could do well to check out these seasonal offerings before they disappear off the shelves.
