As promised, I’m back with a slightly more in-depth review of Cartier’s new Jeanne Toussaint Fine Leather Goods collection, which is already available in Singapore. In particular, the one bag I’m most partial to, the Jeanne Toussaint Asymmetric Clutch that I think will work well for both girls and guys.
Measuring 24.5 cm across by 15.4 cm tall by 7 cm wide, it’s basically a reimagined envelope clutch, with the flap done slightly askew and topped off with a black lacquer ‘stone’ encased in a palladium clasp that’s easily one of the clutch’s most striking features.
The other? The metal chain-link handle that’s joined to the leather loops on each end of the clutch, all inspired by the collection’s muse Jeanne Toussaint, as well as jewellery and handbag pieces from yesteryear in Cartier’s archives.
Priced at SGD2840, the clutch is a minimalist’s dream on the outside while lacking none of the function on the inside, with one main compartment, 6 credit card pockets and a zip pocket all within the burgundy interior, the colour a Cartier signature.
Lush, graphic and a definite head-turner. What more could you ask for in a clutch that’s as
asymmetric attractive as this?
