Call it an occupational hazard, but the first thing I thought of when I laid eyes on the new Saint Laurent Medium Moujik is how much it looks like the Muse Two, albeit a cleaner and more streamlined variation of the former. I know you must think I’m crazy, given how different both bags are, but if you strip away the circular clasp, take away the pair of straps that used to run down the middle and just make it taller (and slimmer), you’ll pretty much have a deconstructed Muse Two in the form of the Moujik.
Measuring 31 cm by 24 cm, the Medium Moujik (which is the only size available right now though I expect more sizes to be released soon), it’s one that’s seriously sharp that will work well in the boardroom, especially if you’re all about the pencil skirts and high heels. Coupled with a long handle and the option of using the removable shoulder sling and you’ve got a winner, especially if you’re all about the chic and the elegant.
Priced at GBP1590 (no word yet of its price in SGD or when it’s hitting our stores locally), you’ll find the bag in smooth calfskin leather in Saint Laurent’s signature hues for now, including Black, Dark Navy and Red, for now. Seriously chic, no?

Is it heavy?
On its own? Rather lightweight.
I know it has been mentioned, but your interpretation of a deconstructed Muse 2 is really true, but I agree with the first comment on your post, it reminds me of a Kelly, a minimalist, done to the bone Kelly… It looks nice and I bet it would be a nice alternative to the original. (FB)
NAMED AFTER SAINT LAURENT’S BULLDOG.
It’s very similar to the Balenciaga Le Dix, no?
I get what you mean, but if I had to choose between the two, I prefer the Moujik a tad more.
I can’t help but think it looks like a Kelly without the hardware. Just like their other tote trying to be a Birkin without the hardware, nothing original about the silhouette.
Now that you mention it…
