To say I’m a watch expert by any measure would be akin to saying that pigs can fly, so instead of listing out all the technical specifications and the amount of fine watchmaking detail that’s frankly all Greek to me, I will instead focus on how dapperly handsome the new Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Pulsograph is.
The kind of timepiece you’ll want on your wrist when you’re dressed to the nines in your tux or when you’re in your casual weekend best, the Meisterstück Heritage Pulsograph is part of the line-up that’s celebrating the 90 years of the Meisterstück collection that also includes fine writing instruments (click here for the read), leather goods and of course, jewellery.
Measuring 41 mm across and cast in 18k rose gold, the watch also sports its very own specially cut and polished Montblanc emblem in the form of a sparkling diamond, set just below Roman numeral VI, or 6. And because I like my watches large and ample, I would imagine this solidly-built timepiece with its Calibre MB M13.21 chronograph sitting squarely (and comfortably) on my wrist.
Available in a strictly limited edition run of only 90 pieces worldwide, now all you really need to do is to head to your nearest Montblanc boutique from June onwards and let the SAs explain all the technical aspects in detail to you. As far as I’m concerned, I was sold the moment I saw the accompanying polished black alligator strap (with large scales no less) that would come with it. Lush. Truly.
One more thing before I sign off. The anniversary collection also comprises a selection of leather goods, good for those more attuned to sharp classically-styled SLGs. Besides the usual card cases, passport holder and wallets, you’ll also find handsome flip-case covers for both the iPhone5/5s and Samsung’s S4 with prices starting from SGD260 each. And like the pens from the 90th anniversary collection, they are now available for sale via Montblanc.
