The flagship line of Montblanc’s collection of writing instruments, the very first Montblanc pen to be branded a Meisterstück (or ‘masterpiece’ in German) was back in 1924 and many years on, celebrates its 90th anniversary with a special collection that pays tribute to its heritage that spanned almost a century.
Most fittingly, a large collection of pieces have been created to commemorate this occasion, from a selection of fine writing instruments to luxury timepieces and leather goods from bags and SLGs to other wardrobe essentials, like cufflinks to key fobs and tech covers.
From top to bottom: 149 Fountain Pen, SGD1260, Classique Ballpoint Pen, SGD560, Classique Rollerball, SGD610, LeGrand Ballpoint Pen, SGD610
Priced from SGD560 and up for the writing instruments, for example, each handcrafted pen comes with an 18k red gold nib (because gold would be too crass and silver too common, no?) that’s also engraved with the commemorative ’90’ on it. They also come in a box (and accompanying sleeve) that hails back to the original design used back in 1924, which does make them a tad more special.
Now available via Montblanc boutiques islandwide including Mandarin Gallery, Marina Bay Sands, Ngee Ann City and Raffles City Shopping Centre, you could also choose to take part in Montblanc’s ongoing Instagram contest that’s open to all around the world till 25 May 2014.
Simply upload an image that best represents #MEISTERSTUCK90YEARS to you (it might not even have to be a Montblanc product), tag @montblanc and include the hashtag #MEISTERSTUCK90YEARS. All images submitted will be collated by Montblanc with the best 3 winning a pen, a leather good and a piece of jewellery respectively for the top 3 prizes.
Now excuse me while I go decide which pen I’m going to get. But if I know myself, it would probably be the LeGrand Rollerball. Because I like it thick (my pens, I mean) with ink that flows smooth on paper.
