Because the sky’s the limit so long as your wallet is in the same stratosphere, there is nothing you can’t do as far as Goyard is concerned, as American comic book artist Ryan Montoya has proven.
Three years in the making and becoming a full-blown project in its own right when it was originally supposed to be just a simply modified trunk, the Artist Trunk features the blue Goyardine on the exterior, lined with the French marque’s signature yellow fabric and trimmed off in leather (along with the handles) with what I think is the perfect colour as far as this combination is concerned: orange.
Add to that the brushed gold-tone hardware in the form of the hinges, the latches and the lock and you’ve got a stunner for a trunk that’s also been customised to the artist’s heart’s content, with a multitude of drawers and trays (along with a drawing board that folds out) which allows him to create his works at home or while on the go. Measuring some 43 cm across by 28 cm in height, it would also be the perfect carry-on size because no one in his right mind (Mr Montoya included) would want to check this in.
And while I’m not sure if Goyard will re-create another just for you, at least you now know they can pretty much create any kind of trunk (or bag, for that matter) you desire, as long as you are patient and the wallet is willing. Find out more via your nearest Goyard botique, which in Singapore would be the one at Ngee Ann City.
