While I wasn’t able to get myself a Chanel backpack while in Paris (everything was already sold out at both Colette and Chanel’s rue Cambon boutique by the time I had arrived), I was briefly tempted by this other S/S14 offering, the Chanel Paint Palette Canvas Flap Bag. Created in the same arts and crafts spirit of the backpack, the Flap Bag is as the name suggests, completely made of printed canvas. And that’s not all. Sporting a metal hardware sling that’s interlaced with rope twine, it’s super lightweight as well, with the weightiest pieces on the bag being the aforementioned sling and the signature clasp.
Available in 2 sizes, the smaller one measures 30 cm by 19.5 cm and retails for SGD3690. The larger one (also the one I was refusing to let go of while I was in the boutique) is also the one I’ve got my heart set on, which would work easily as a clutch for all manner of tech gadgetry like the iPad Mini and other essentials.
Interesting, yes? But if that’s not your thing, do check out the Classic Flap Bag which comes in jersey fabric, that measures that measures 20 cm by 12.5 cm for the smallest one. Retailing for SGD3060, the larger one (30 cm by 20 cm) will sell for SGD4550.
