If you’ve ever enjoyed a tall and cold citrus cocktail whilst lounging on a beach chair facing the open sea, as the distinct scents of the tangy drink and salty sea air mingled, and wondered fleetingly how it would smell like bottled, may I present Bulgari’s latest addition to its scent collection for men, the Bulgari Aqva Amara.
It was the first thing that came to my mind when I was in Bali back in January for the media launch, having arrived at Ayana Resort & Spa’s famous Rock Bar, majestic waves crashing against the rock formations, the luscious scents of oranges and patchouli filling our heads (we were given scented tester strips to sniff on) and the final stroke of genius, the launch event was timed around when the sun would set. And let me tell you, the sunsets at the Rock Bar are just magnificent, intense glowing hues of fiery red and burnt copper, which is also the colour of the Aqva Amara’s orb-like bottle that feels like a large smooth pebble you’ll find on the beach.
Available in eau de toilette in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles (from SGD99 and up), as well as a limited edition shampoo and shower gel (200ml) which I tried and loved, the fragrance, made up of Indonesian patchouli, Sicilian oranges, neroli oil and olibanum will be launched across Singapore from tomorrow onwards (28 February 2014), the perfect scent of/for summer that’s all about the sun, sea and surf. Whether you’re actually on the beach, or not, won’t matter.
