Because on days when a backpack is too small and the tote just won’t do (especially when I’m doing a gym-laundry-work runabout in town), a duffel is perhaps the best solution, a large cylindrical bag with a pair of short handles on top and often finished with a long shoulder sling that’s also conveniently removable. Coupled with my love for anything that’s floral in print and I think we’ve got a winner in the form of 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Medium Side Zip Duffle that should be new from the S/S14 collection.
Made up of 80% cotton canvas, which I’m assuming is everywhere you see the floral print on the bag, and 20% leather, you know, handles, trim and removable sling), I’m also assuming it should measure some 40 cm across, with a pair of zips at each side which can be used to increase the height of the duffle if ever more space was needed, which is pretty smart.
With the exception of the oval leather patch that comes embossed with a lightning bolt which I don’t quite get (probably has something to do with the S/S14 RTW collection), it’s a hands-down winner otherwise, especially when it’s priced at just USD850 which is really affordable for such a functional piece. Just don’t be a wuss and let the florals put you off.
And 3.1 Phillip Lim does ship internationally, and with shipping to Singapore you’ll be paying a grand total of SGD1264.32. Yes, I did the math, so all you really need to do is to make up your mind and click on checkout. Yes, I’m also evil like that.
