First the good news. Goyard is now open in Singapore at Ngee Ann City in the same row as Céline and Chanel. A small and cosy outfit, it’s about the same size as the one in Hong Kong with wood panelling and glass cupboards everywhere in keeping with the French house’s aesthetic signature all over the world.
Goyard’s colour chart with T1 to T3 classified as classic hues, while T4 to T10 are known as the special colours. Pink is not a permanent colour (it was a limited edition release) and Grey (presumably T11) is not shown on the chart above
Having checked out the prices so you don’t have to, they are as follows. For the Saint Louis in GM, the classic hues will retail for SGD1690, while the special colours are priced at SGD2200. For the ones in the PM size, classic hues are SGD1480 each, while the ones in special colours sell for SGD1930 a pop. For those unsure about what I’m referring to when I mention classic hues versus special colours, do check out this post.
Another piece that will do well for both the boys and the girls is the Senat, the flat clutch topped with a zip that comes in 4 sizes, GM, MM, PM and Mini. I don’t have the price for the Mini as yet, but for the GM, MM and PM, they will retail for SGD1480, SGD1060 and SGD640 for the classic hues, while the ones in the special colours will cost SGD1930, SGD1380 and SGD830 respectively. As far as the sizing goes, think approximately A4 for the GM, A5 for the MM and A6 for the PM.
Some of my favourite pieces from left to right, the Sainte Lucie, the Ambassade, the Marigny and the Saint Louis
Other pieces that I’m eyeing for myself (and thus have the prices for) include the Sainte Lucie (click here to have a look) which retails for SGD2860 (classic colours only) and the Belvedere, priced at SGD2540, SGD2960 and SGD3390 for the 3 sizes it comes in. Not sure which style I’m referring to? Follow this link and have a read. Last but not least, the Ambassade (which I own and love) retails for SGD4020 and SGD5230 respectively depending on the colour.
And now for the bad news. Besides the fact that the personalisation service is not ready yet (I’ll do another update as soon as it is), expect a wait of up to 30 days to get your pieces done. Prices are, however, reasonable, with the option of either up to 6 letters or up to 3 stripes priced at SGD205. Oh, and I have it on good authority that prices will be revised next year, so if you think it’s already high now, wait till 2014 kicks in. In other words, the best time to buy if you’re not planning to go overseas is now.
Any other questions, people?
Update: 7 April 2014
In case you didn’t already know, Goyard Singapore has recently increased their prices. The Saint Louis GM, for example, is now SGD1820 and SGD2370 respectively for the ones in classic and special colours. The Saint Louis PM? SGD1610 and SGD2090. #happyshopping
