In this online world where everybody and their grandmother are livestreaming runway shows this season (really, how 2011 is that?), Burberry once again ups the ante and pushes out another first. Collaborating with Apple for the very first time, Burberry will be using Apple’s yet-to-be-released iPhone5s to capture the runway show in photos and videos which will then be sent out via Burberry’s various social media channels.
This is exciting for me on at least 2 levels. For starters, it will give us an up-close look on how the iPhone5s’ much touted, all-new iSight camera will work, which is fantastic because we’ll get to see it in action on 16 September before Apple starts taking orders on the 20th. Then there’s the fact that as big a social media giant as Burberry already is, it continually innovates, which can only be a good thing for those of us who literally live and breathe online.
Before I sign off, here’s a teaser video courtesy of Burberry that’s shot entirely using Apple’s new iSight camera on the iPhone5s that’s pretty good as far as the image quality is concerned. What do you think?
