With prices the way they are now at Louis Vuitton, you’ll be hard pressed to find a decent leather bag at the French house that’s even affordable anymore, what with prices easily starting from SGD3000 these days, even more if it is a runway piece. Which is why it was a pleasant surprise to come across the Louis Vuitton Epi Sac Plat yesterday whilst out we were out on our rounds around Orchard Road.
An overseas guest had come to visit, and we were on the lookout for a new belt that he was eyeing from Louis Vuitton. One thing led to another, and before one could say Epi Sac Plat really quickly 10 times, the belt was forgotten and the bag, bought.
Measuring around 36 cm across by 38 cm in height, the Sac Plat has always been one of my personal favourites, a classic style from Louis Vuitton that saw previous incarnations in Monogram Canvas and Damier Ebene. Being available in Epi isn’t exactly new either, but nothing new has been released in a few years and this particular new season piece was simply stunning in this dark marine blue.
Lined in a suede-like fabric and containing 4 pockets on the interior (one zipped, one large patch and 2 small patch pockets), it’s a handsome tote for work that will take A4-sized documents and your laptop easily. Add all that together and you’ve got a winner, especially when it’s priced at just over SGD2500, which I thought was a pretty good deal.
