A favourite of mine then, and still a favourite of mine today as far as durable, roomy mens totes are concerned, the distinctly detailed Jack Spade Dipped Coal Tote has been an ongoing offering at the American house for some time now and it looks set to be so for quite a while more.
Made of tough heavyweight canvas that’s then dipped into rubber latex that makes it waterproof (on the bottom half anyway) as well, it also gives the otherwise plain tote a nice contrast, such as the one shown above that’s all navy with a white rubber bottom. Measuring almost 40 cm across by 35 cm in height, it’s the kind of tote you want on the beach, on short weekend jaunts or for those days when you feel the need to lug your kitchen sink (metaphorically, of course) around town.
Packing one internal zip pocket as well as a removable shoulder sling (that’s always a good bonus, if you ask me), you can pick up the basic models for around USD195 in the States. In Singapore, you’ll find it at Cumulus where it sells for SGD470 a pop.
