The Edie from J. Crew is no stranger to the blog, having once made an appearance last year in the form of the Edie Attaché. Simply styled and to the point, it’s a design that’s as straightforward as it gets, the rectangular body topped with a short handle, front flap and a long shoulder sling that’s also detachable. In other words, for those looking for an entry-level bag not costing more than a few hundred dollars, the Edie Purse would be a prime candidate.
Now this is where is gets interesting. Released quite recently was the J. Crew Python Edie Purse, crafted in exotic python in a bright pink hue that would make wild salmon blush. Priced at around SGD2750, there’s something about it to me that doesn’t feel right.
Is it a steal (and a yay) because it’s all exotic python that would usually cost upwards of at least SGD4000 for something this size from a leading French brand? Or is it wrong (and a nay) because it’s just J.Crew? Discuss. Oh, and it’s sold out online at J.Crew, by the way.
