It probably isn’t fair to single out just one bag from the Fall-Winter 2013 Womens Louis Vuitton collection and proclaim it eclectic, since there are loads more that are no less ‘eye-catching’ than this one, but we’ve got to start somewhere, right?
Simply known as the Louis Vuitton Monogram Chain Speedy20, the bag does have some features that make it rather interesting. For starters, it’s as small a Speedy as you’ll find from Louis Vuitton today, even smaller than the Speedy25, with this one coming in at a 20. Instead of regular vachetta-leather handles, you’ll find in its place a pair of old-school aged metal chain link straps, which I suppose makes more sense for a bag this size.
Then there’s the shoulder sling, which if you look at the ends closely are the daintier ones used for small bags and clutches over at LV, and not your usual hold-up-its-weight-in-gold type of leather strap. Rounding it up, a padlock that also looks slightly distressed (in keeping with the theme I guess) and a smaller-than-usual clochette which I take holds the key to the padlock as well.
Priced at approximately USD2450 and expected to launch sometime in mid-August, it isn’t one I’m hating or loving. I just ain’t sure, honestly. What do you think?
