It’s been a long while since I posted anything under this category, but because the new F/W13 Loewe Lorca is such a worthy candidate, I thought it would be a waste not to. Named after either Federico García Lorca, a Spanish poet, dramatist and theatre director who was executed during the Spanish Civil War or a town located in southeastern Spain, its single most distinguishing feature has got to be the fact that the bag is made up almost entirely of flawless suede, this particular one even more stunning in Oro, which also happens to be Loewe’s signature hue.
Measuring 44 cm by 29 cm, it comes unlined, which adds to it being lightweight and allowing you to appreciate the leather inside and out. The easy way out would be simply lining the interior with a fabric or another piece of leather if the suede used was less than perfect, but it’s something that Loewe would never do.
Use the Lorca with its adjustable/removable shoulder sling, which goes from messenger/satchel to a briefcase once the sling is removed. Soft and unstructured, you’ll also find a zipped leather pouch on the inside which is attached to a leather ‘skeleton’ and pretty much how the bag is held together. See it for yourself when it hits Singapore in early August, priced at SGD3590 and besides Oro, is also available in Dark Red, Forest and Ocean.
