A homage to the eponymous jacket designed by Christian Dior himself in 1947, the Dior Diorbar is Raf Simons’ contribution to the French house, which at first glance does remind one of a gentler, softer Lady Dior.
Embracing soft voluptuous curves with its distinct ‘clipped’ sides, it’s an elegantly beautiful bag that’s good for both work and play, topped off with an oversized leather clochette which holds the silver letters ‘D’, ‘I’, ‘O’ and ‘R’ (to make up Dior, of course) within.
Available in two sizes, 26 cm by 20.5 cm and 37 cm by 28 cm for the small and large respectively, you’ll find different variations at your local Dior boutique, from grained calfskin to smooth patent leather and even once in a while, one-offs like the houndstooth-printed calfskin which I do think is pretty divine. Like most of Dior at the moment.
And before I forget, the small Diorbar in grained calfskin will retail for SGD5800, while the small Diorbar in houndstooth calfskin, SGD9200.
