Because it’s Friday, I thought a little Chanel is in order, though honestly, as far as I’m concerned, Chanel on this blog is always a good thing any day of the week.
Besides making us all smitten with classics like the 2.55 and the Classic Flap, or everybody’s bag-of-the-month, the Boy Chanel, you can also always count on Kaiser Karl to throw something that’s unfamiliar and odd into the loop, but after a while, you kinda know you want it despite how it looks or how much it costs.
Take the Chanel Plexiglas Globe Clutch, from the F/W13 collection, for instance. If you caught the runway presentation online you would have seen the giant rotating globe in the middle of the Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées. Karl Lagerfeld probably thought it a good idea to then create a clutch after it, the shape of your typical globe with the slight slant with a huge Chanel logo etched onto it.
Is Karl then trying to tell us that Chanel rules the world? I’ll buy that, especially since I know many amongst you will gladly give up your firstborn infants for the latest Boy Chanel. Pick it up for SGD10,660 at your local Chanel boutique.
