It’s quite possibly one of the most adorable interpretations of the panda bear you’ll see yet, what with that pair of doleful eyes and its arms folded as if to say ‘I’m sorry’. Named Ling, the Judith Leiber Panda Bear Crystal Minaudière, she is hand-encrusted with thousands of crystal beads, lined with nappa and comes with a long slinky chain.
More heirloom than handbag (though seriously it would work fine as a minaudière when you’re at your next gala fête), it’s definitely not a bag for everyday, but one that’s appreciated at home and taken out for special occasions that call for it.
Here’s an interesting anecdote about how these crystal-encrusted bags came about. Back in 1966, Leiber ordered some minaudière from Italy that arrived in the US slightly dented, and not wanting to waste any, decided to decorate one with Austrian crystals, and a signature as far as luxury handbags was concerned was born.
Besides Ling, I’m also loving Ernie, the humble rubber ducky made superluxe that’s also guaranteed to bring a smile to most anyone’s face. Priced from around SGD6900 and up, you can now view/adopt them at Judith Leiber Paragon that’s situated between Burberry and Etro.
