This could be Mulberry’s answer to the Speedy/Boston, a barrel-shaped (well, it’s actually almost squarish at the sides) leather bag called Tasha that’s topped off with longer-than-usual handles, which I’m assuming just makes it easier for ladies to sit it on their shoulders.
Measuring 39 cm across by 23 cm, it’s quite long as far as its length is concerned, making it pretty substantial as well. As far as the aesthetics go, it’s as un-Mulberry as it gets, the double zip detailing in the front trying to give it a younger edge, yet the use of the scalloped panelling on the top looks old. Then there’s the use of contrasting textures in leather and shrunken calf that while nice, may not be appropriate on a style like this.
My favourite thing about it? How the colour (in Emerald) contrasts beautifully with the gold-tone hardware, but that’s about it really. Priced at GBP1350 and available online via Mulberry, you could say I’m still on the fence with it. And maybe, just maybe, you shouldn’t bother with it for now either. Thoughts?
