Available via a quick 3-day international delivery right to your doorstep are these special edition carry-on cases from Globe Trotter, a new addition to the line-up at Mr Porter. One of the few brands that’s still not readily available in the region (and a piece of luggage which I haven’t been able to experience for myself firsthand), there are now 6 different pieces up for grabs.
Handmade in England, both of these 18″ vulcanised cases can be carried on board the plane, one a trolley with an extendable handle and maneuverable wheels, while the other is more a briefcase/suitcase, very Mad Men/Pan-Am-like if you ask me. Priced at GBP840 and GBP740 respectively, you’ll also be pleased to know that shipping charges remain the same, coming in at around GBP20. One more thing, the ones shown above are regular pieces from Globe-Trotter, while the ones made specially for Mr Porter are in burnt orange with caramel leather tabs.
And when they are not in use, they should look good in the home, forming part of the decor, be it an ad-hoc coffee table or plopped onto a side table and used to store, say, books and the like, which is another criterium I personally adhere to when shopping for luggage. What say you?
