Yes, Saught’s Pursuing Peace Bangle does look kinda cheesy at first glance, but once you understand the backstory of its origin and what it’s made of, you’ll hopefully be moved, which was exactly how I felt when I was introduced to brand.
Saught obtains scrap metal supplied by international and Cambodian de-mining organisations, usually landmines and unexploded ordnance which are then worked on by artisans working in Cambodian NGO partner workshops. The artisans get a regular income, with profits re-invested into these countries and aiding their development efforts. In other words, it’s all for a really good cause.
Dainty, elegant and definitely wearable, Saught’s jewellery comprise of 3 distinct collections, each with rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces that retail from just SGD79.90 and up, which in my books also means they’ll make really meaningful gifts to loved ones and friends that are also affordable.
Check them out here, or look out for them at the upcoming Blueprint Emporium (18 and 19 May 2013) at The Pit Building, where selected pieces will be on sale to the public. Beautiful pieces, at a good price, for a great cause. Need I really say more?
