Walking into the rather busy Saint Laurent boutique at ION Orchard earlier this evening, I realised something. Whilst it appears that fashion critics have their strong opinions about the brand and its new designer, everyone else who was there in the store didn’t seem to care two hoots. They were there because they responded to the bags, SLGs and jewellery on display, and they were there to buy and lap it all up.
Which, if you think hard enough, is more important than anything else, including bad reviews from noted fashion veterans. From the Classic Duffle to the new Sac De Jour, from clean minimalist leather wallets and gadget covers to even jewellery, they are literally walking out the door in jet black paper bags.
And speaking of jewellery, meet the Saint Laurent Gourmette Clous Bracelet in gold or silver, both now on my want list. Priced at SGD430 each in Singapore (GBP215 online via Net-A-Porter), they’re officially the easiest-unisex-bracelet-to-throw-on-alone-or-stacked-and-still-look-good, and once you have it wrapped around the wrist, the heart sighs and the head says yes.
Now I just need now to decide on the colour. Gold? Or silver? What say you?
For those, however, who prefer a solid cuff/bangle, there’s the Saint Laurent Le Trois Clous Bangle to consider, which comes in at just over a thousand plus.
