If you caught my column The Bagaholic Edit in January’s issue of Female, you would have caught of a glimpse of the new Spanish brand M2Malletier that just made her debut on Net-A-Porter.
Created by a pair of Columbian classmates who graduated from Parsons in New York City and now work out of their studio from Barcelona, bags from M2Malletier are anchored by exaggerated and structural pieces of hardware, crafted with the finest of leathers and come in shapes that are unexpected and refreshing all at once.
Take the Amor Fati for example. Priced at GBP1110 online, the 20 cm by 21 cm supple leather handbag is six-sided and comes with the brand’s signature ‘needle’ handle hardware in gold. Under the flap, you’ll find a magnetic closure clasp, and on the inside it’s fully lined with black leather that’s just lush if you ask me.
Available in Red, or Black, it’s something that wallflowers need not bother with. For those, however, who love bags from the likes of Céline, Saint Laurent and Victoria Beckham, then M2Malletier is a brand you should most definitely consider.
