In continuation of its tradition of working with celebrated artists every year, Louis Vuitton will be presenting a collaboration of 3 scarves in 2013 as part of its S/S13 collection, tapping on the talents of Aiko, RETNA and Os Gomeos. The end result? A stunning selection of visually vibrant pieces that will find favour with most of you out there.
From Japanese artist Aiko comes the manga-inspired square 4 Seasons (shown above), complete with the national flower of Japan, along with the artist’s interpretation of the House’s monogram and signature. Over the top and louder than the drag queens along Silom, it’s campy, it’s fun and it’s unapologetic.
From Brazilian twins Os Gomeos comes the Mosaic, a print depicting their interpretation of the Sun and the Moon, which I guarantee will have you seeing stars instead if you stare at it long enough.
Last but not least (and my personal favourite), one from artist RETNA who hails from the US. Featuring a mix of hieroglyphics, calligraphy and graffiti styles, it comes together quite nicely, especially with the artist’s interpretation of house signature complementing the stole, which happens to be called Script by the way.
No word on the prices yet, nor do I have the exact release dates so do stay tuned for another update. Or two.
UPDATE: Prices are in. Due out in Singapore between January and March 2013, they will be priced at SGD975, SGD580 and SGD1120 respectively for the 4 Seasons, the Mosaic and the Script.
