If there’s anything I learnt from Chanel’s Les Secrets Du Sac exhibition which will open to the public on 10 November, it’s that Chanel never fails to surprise as far as their bags are concerned. From the Classic Flap with Snow White’s illustration, to the wooden picnic box bag, it seems that no matter how quirky, oddball or ridiculous it may be, the brand always manages to rein it in enough without going overboard and still gives us something to admire/love/drool over.
Which brings us to the Chanel ‘Lego’ Clutch that will only be released next year. Part children’s toy, part modern art, there’s just something about it that’s so alluring, even if I can’t quite put my finger on it. Fans will love it, collectors will own it, especially with the fashion set parading their pieces and getting papped on street style blogs.
In other words, I’m heading down to the nearest Chanel boutique tomorrow and putting myself down on the wait list, even if this quirky, oddball and ridiculous clutch is going to cost me an arm and a leg.
