There are pens and there are pens. And as I’ve mentioned before, I’m in the market for my first serious, grown-up pen, the kind I can fish out of my pocket in a swanky boardroom and sign millon-dollar contracts with. Ok, maybe not quite millon-dollar, but you know what I mean.
A pen from the Montblanc StarWalker collection could possibly be the answer. Already famed for its cutting-edge design aesthetics and technological innovation, it has just introduced the new exclusive StarWalker Red Gold pens, a statement-making line of writing instruments.
First up is the StarWalker Red Gold Metal pen, featuring a black lacquered surface with diamond cut lines in Red Gold, which gives it a rather architectural feel. Similarly imbued with the same geometric lines, the Red StarWalker Gold Resin version is made of black precious resin with contrasting gold-plated fittings.
Both come with its inimitable Montblanc emblem floating inside a transparent cap top, definitely adding a cool touch to its unique combination of innovative materials and distinctive ergonomic shape. Classy, yet not overly rich. Check. Mature, yet not ‘old’. Check. Eye-catching, yet not garish. Check.
With each version available in fountain pen with a solid 14K gold nib, fineliner pen and ballpoint, I guess the question now is, which one? Or should I just hold out and keep looking?
