For something as frequently used as say a briefcase, which should see action at least 5 days a week, nothing is more important than it being being lustrous yet hardwearing. And one of the brands that has got it right has got to be Spanish house Loewe, which utilises boxcalf in its briefcases and portfolios.
Incredibly resilient to occasional bumps and scratches, the leather is almost smooth to the touch, save for a very fine grain. What’s more interesting about the Loewe Diplomatico Briefcase (besides being more generous as far as its width is concerned as compared to the Loewe Embajada Briefcase) is the surprising range of colours it comes in, from Dark Red to Ocean Blue and Purple, besides the usual Black and Tan (shown above).
Open the front flap (which can also be locked via a key, by the way) and you’ll find two distinct compartments inside for all manner of tech gadgets and work documents. There’s also an additional zip compartment, which is always useful.
Priced at GBP1080 online at Matches (or around SGD2170 after conversion) means it’s also a great investment, especially for one that’s as handsome as it’s hardy.
