Before all of you get too excited, let’s set the record straight. For their winter campaign, Oroton has collaborated with Craig Redman (the man behind Darcel Disappoints) who has come up with posters, window installations and a digital animation. Featuring his own take on the various styles of bags and accessories available at Oroton, they are fun and kitschy (yes, there’s that word again).
The bad news? As far as the collaboration goes, there won’t be actual bags made to look like the Venice Soft Tote (shown above), or the Spencer (shown below).
In other words, while you will be able to buy the Venice Soft Tote or Spencer (priced at SGD920 each respectively), you’ll only be able to get them in the regular variations. Probably because no one in their right mind will carry a briefcase with stripes and polka dots with buckles and handles in a multitude of colours? Or would you?
Still, I’m hoping for some limited edition accessories pouches covered with Redman’s illustrations, or maybe wrapping paper and gift cards since X’mas is just round the corner.
And before you head down to the Oroton store at ION Orchard to check out the window installations, check out the animation video first and you’ll know what I mean about the wrapping paper bit.
