Those of you who have been following this blog for a while now will know I have a weakness as far as the Knot is concerned. And it’s really not hard to see why; the Knot is after all an icon in her own right, a elegantly rounded rectangular clutch that’s topped off with a clasp that looks like its namesake.
And while it’s hard enough to pick one particular Knot from the many variations available that I adore (they are like children, and you can’t possibly play favourites, can you?), there are some I consider works of art, like the Bottega Veneta Metal Lace Karung Knot.
Basically a blackened metal shell that’s been painstakingly laser-cut to look like the most delicate of lace, the clutch is then moulded into shape before having its lining added, and in this case it is gold satin (it also comes in plaster satin, by the way). And if that still wasn’t luxe enough, exotic karung is added as a trim to the edges of the clutch.
It’s artisanal, it’s a heirloom-to-be, and it’s stunningly beautiful. Get it for GBP2610 on Net-A-Porter, or SGD6700 in Singapore.

Beautiful piece of craftsmanship, BV never fails to impress me as far as their gorgeous clutches are concerned.
This is a truly beautiful bag! Even nicer than the McQueen you featured before IMO.
This is a piece of art… saw this in Florence couple months back… the details in it is simply spectacular. (FB)
awsome! now I know precisely what to put on my wishlist for X’mas!
I saw this in London a couple of months back. It is HEAVY. The SA agreed with me it would make a nifty self-defense object. (FB)
