With the end of 2011 just round the corner, it is also the time of the year I start taking note of next year’s gems, and one of them is definitely the Reed Krakoff Atlantique, a new addition to their range of bags that put function above form.
If you’re a fan, you’ll be familiar with styles such as the Boxer and the Editor (both great work totes), the Gym Bag (which works pretty well as a travel duffle too) as well as their roomy hobos and oversized clutches.
Measuring 46.5 cm high by 33 cm wide (with a depth of 14 cm), all totes will come in dual colours, a main colour for the body, and a contrasting hue for the smaller (and removable) zip pouch. A great size for work, you’ll have no issues lugging files and the laptop around, and even though it is a woman’s tote, I’m pretty sure some guys will be tempted as well given its size plus the fact that it comes in dark colours like Cobalt/Royal Blue and Saddle/Dark Brown.
Retailing for USD1490 for the leather versions and USD4900 for the ones in exotic python, there are no Reed Krakoff stores in the region, so your best bet is to snag one on Net-A-Porter once it gets launched there. But before that happens, do check out the Reed Krakoff’s online site to see them in all their full glory.

I stepped into Coach the other day, and Reed Krakoff is really turning the brand around!
Lovely. If only there’s a shoulder version, with longer handle drop. A bag this big (and probably heavy) is gonna take a toll on the arms.
Well, there is the Editor, do check it out. Or the 510 Tote.
The Atlantique looks very functional and it’s a perfect size. I wish Reed Krakoff would start making men’s bags. The Atlantique looks almost unisex, but still a bit too feminine for me.
You must be referring to the rounded corners. And yes, it would be great if he does start designing bags for men, and more importantly, open a stand-alone somewhere in the region.
