One of the bags that caught my eye while I was in Paris (and again recently in Hong Kong) was the Loewe Cordoba, a structured leather bag with long handles from the Spanish luxury house’s S/S12 collection.
About the same size as a Speedy30, I was particularly intrigued by its opening, which consists of a pair of flaps that you can close (and lock) via its turnlock clasp on the top of the bag. It also comes with its own adjustable shoulder strap, which allows one to carry it one of two ways.
As far as I was concerned, here was a boxy bag that’s versatile enough for work and play, big enough for all your daily essentials and gorgeous enough to make others swoon with envy.
Besides the ones in calfskin (like the one in red shown above), I also had the chance to check out the ones made of suede and exotic croc which were truly lush.
And while I’m not 100% sure if the Cordoba will be made for sale, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it and do another update when (and if) it is eventually released.
For now, you’ll just have to enjoy this illustration, drawn by Caroline from Coco Draws, who kindly obliged when I contacted her to do one for the blog. Based in the States, Caroline’s blog is filled with whimsical drawings, as well as an Etsy shop where she sells her works. Check it out, you won’t regret it.
