H&M + Versace Look Book

You’ve seen the ad campaign images from the upcoming H&M + Versace collection (well, most of them anyway), and now it is time to turn our attention to the outfits featured in the official look book.

A total of 16 looks for the men and women have been released, all of which I’ve already uploaded to Facebook for your viewing pleasure, along with tentative prices in SGD to help you ogle (and budget) at the same time.

And now, some advice. As much as I love the fact that you purchase these collaboration pieces at rock-bottom prices, I’m wondering how the collection will translate amongst the masses (yes, commoners like you and me) as far as carrying off the looks are concerned. Besides having really good genes, you’ll also need the confidence and work it really well.

In other words, be really honest with yourself before committing to any piece, instead of wilding grabbing entire looks off the racks just because the 243 other women in the queue behind you are doing the same.

Buy, yes. But buy wisely.

Now on to the looks I like the most, starting with the monochromatic geometric ensemble (shown above). The blazer (SGD249) and the shirt (SGD79.90) are pretty cool, though I’m not sure if the denim trousers (SGD119) will work for me.

For those of you who believe in the mantra that less is more, they’ve also got a tee and a cashmere wool sweater in the same print (SGD39.90 and SGD139 respectively), as well as a mens scarf (SGD59.90) and cotton trunks (SGD24.90).

Now on to something that’s much easier to pull off, the bomber jacket (SGD249) that’s more Gianni than Donatella. The shirt (with the detailing on the collar) looks pretty cool too, and besides the one in Blue, it also comes in Black and Pink and is priced at SGD79.90 each.

Loving most everything in this look for the ladies, though you really need legs that go on and on to pull off those trousers (SGD119). Much easier to carry off are the silk bustier (SGD199), the scarf (SGD59.90) and that pair of pink heels (SGD199).

Last but not least, the really stunning metallic dress in silver that retails for SGD399 and one of those pieces I’d expect we will be seeing lots of on celebrities turning up at red carpet events. In other words, a must-have and the perfect party dress of the season.

Don’t forget to check out the remaining 12 looks posted up on my Facebook fan page, and have a look at the video as well, which explains how the collection came about.
