I’ve had my eye on this since I first spotted it being cradled down the runway in Paris, and wondered how on earth Phoebe Philo managed to conjure this up. It wasn’t the fact that she created something new, it was simply the fact that she somehow managed to foresee that such a design would feel so relevant months later.
Basically an updated variation of an old-school doctor’s frame bag, it was intentionally kept minimal, sans all the usual bells and whistles. Even the name of the bag is such; it is simply known as the Céline Handbag. Short and sweet. No long, complicated names, no tongue twisters, which in a strange way just adds to the allure of it all even more.
Available in 2 different sizes (the shorter and slightly taller Frame, as well as the longer and shorter Long Frame), it will come in a variety of colours and finishes, including smooth calfskin, satin calfskin (which I suspect is haircalf shaved really tightly to achieve that smooth, shimmering finish) as well as exotics like python skin.
Prices will start from SGD3600 in Singapore, and up to SGD6300 for the ones in exotic skins. Others, like the ones in satin calfskin (shown above) will retail for SGD4000 a piece. All of which will be available in Singapore at their Ngee Ann City boutique in the coming weeks.

The structure is so similar to a Moynat bag.
is it in Singapore yet? didn’t see it when i passed by at Taka…
I had a chance of feeling it in person in Paris and it’s really not that heavy actually. it’s just kinda bulky.
Thanks for the input Jacq, much appreciated!
well then it heavy since the luggage tote aint light at all… esp once you fill it up… but we girls need to suffer for fashion, no?
It looks even better in person. Saw it at Harrod’s yesterday.
Personally I prefer the one that LV did in their Fall/Winter 2010/11 collection.
Très chic! Phoebe really can do no wrong.
I wonder if it’s heavy… it does not exactly look lightweight to me. But I love the shape of it.
It is definitely not as heavy as it looks (I had fun with it back in March when I was in Paris), probably weighs as much as the Micro Luggage.
