Another stunning collection from Christopher Bailey has set the tone for the coming season at Burberry Prorsum. Lightweight nylon parkas in deep, rich colours, check. Shirts with intricately dabbed print resembling charts to check if one is colour blind, check. Lush alligator iPad cases that cost an arm and perhaps a kidney or two, check.
But the moment when I took my first deep gasp watching the Spring-Summer 2012 Mens Burberry Prorsum runway presentation was when I set eyes on the shoes. A gorgeous amalgamation of old school and modernity with copious dashes of imagination, they are officially on my wish list for 2012.
Lined with cork at the bottom of each shoe and set in the middle everything from weaved leather to bold prints and even woven straw, they are a visual feast for the senses. If I could buy them now, I would. But alas, that is not to be as they haven’t been made available now.
You could get the jackets, and even the alligator iPad case for over SGD7000, but the shoes, those gorgeous shoes, will have to wait. Watch the show in all its fully glory here, and get them coats and bags before anyone else by pre-ordering here.
