My first official post on the forthcoming Fall-Winter 2011 Mens Prada collection isn’t going to be about the soft Saffiano luggage pieces, or the printed plaid nylon backpacks and totes. It is, however, going to be about this pair of shoes, one that comes with a side buckle, and another that’s just a loafer.
Both are pretty basic as far as shoes go, just slightly enhanced with a thick rubber sole that every other brand is doing as well these days, so really, there’s nothing to shout about, right?
Wrong. As far as these pairs are concerned, that rich sheen leather in burgundy, paired with grey rubber soles, are a match made in heaven. There is something about the combination that makes it so desirable, so much so that I’m officially putting these in my newly created wish list just for shoes. I don’t have the retail prices for these shoes yet (I do expect them to be in the SGD1000 range), so stay tuned for more updates.
And before I go, let me just honestly state that I wasn’t in love with these when I spotted them on the runway, but this particular combination is sorta growing on me. Rather affordable too, at SGD1040 a pair.
Last but not least, the been-there-done-that shoes, which come in deep rich hues for F/W11. Nothing flashy like the S/S11 pair I own, but great for those who don’t mind some height enhancement in more conservative colours.

YOU SHOULD SEE: Prada Creeper Brogues
Okay. Thanks for your thoughts and for the heads-up!
Oh, would you know how to properly remove wet marks from the leather? I tried to used a cloth but not everything went away. They’re not clearly visible unless I look at them closely.
On shoes? I wouldn’t fret too much about it. Like you said, they are not clearly visible unless you look at them closely.
Hi. May I ask for your opinion about the shoes in the 2nd picture? Should I get that kind of color combination or would it be nice to get the other one in black (top) and brown (wedge)? I already got the wing-tip with the striped sole (3rd picture) in black. I don’t really wear brown shoes but I wouldn’t mind the poppy blue color with it nor would I mind the minimal black and brown.
Well, it is really up to you, but if you want something different from the brogues you’ve already got then go for the ones in the second image.
Better go soon though, the Prada sale already started and the seasonal ones will be gone before you know it.
It’s from FW11. Will do.
The last pair were the shoes I did not get to see in Tokyo (at the Aoyama store) because I was sidetracked by the tri-color brogues in Seibu! Have you seen Tommy Ton’s pair in tan? Gorgeous!!!
I did not. Is it from S/S11 or F/W11? Drop me an email with the link please?
The first picture, does look like Doc Martens. I used to have a pair that looks like the one at the bottom (based on the first picture).
The second shoe with blue/white sole is kinda attractive in a strange way. Would love to try it out. Thanks BB for these new updates!
I still like the tri-colour prada brogues better, really feel like owning a pair.
Looks like Dr Martens. (FB)
From which collection Roy? Would love to check it out and do a comparison.
This is gorgeous! (FB)
