Stunningly simple in its execution, the limited edition Bottega Veneta Japan Keychain was created with one thing in mind, to support Japan’s rebuilding efforts after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March. Priced at SGD260 each with only 1000 pieces available worldwide, it is, in my opinion, more importantly a poignant reminder of the pain and suffering that’s still ongoing as far as Japan is concerned.
Adds Tomas Maier, ‘In designing this keychain I hoped to create not just a means of financial contribution but also a bold symbol of shared care and commitment’.
To be officially released in Singapore come 12 June 2011, all profits from the sale of the hand-woven intrecciato nappa leather keychain will be donated to Japan via the Red Cross. In addition, Bottega Veneta’s parent group PPR Group had earlier donated the sum of two million euros, as well as all profits from the sale of merchandise from Bottega Veneta’s Japanese e-commerce site, ongoing till 11 June 2011.
Definitely do get one and show your support (and solidarity) for Japan.
