The moment I walked past Kate Spade, I stopped dead in my tracks. I knew where I had just seen something else that was very, very similar. From the Louis Vuitton’s S/S11 collection comes the Louis Vuitton Ailleurs Cabas PM (USD1430), depicting illustrations painted by British artist Pippa Cunningham and then adapted into totes, a scarf, a towel and a pareo for the collection.
From Kate Spade’s S/S11 collection comes the Kate Spade Wish You Were Small Coal (USD275), which depicts a chillingly similar scene on the tote, inspired by a box of vintage postcards found while shopping at flea markets.
And though there are obvious differences in terms of price, size and make of the bag, you can’t deny that for something that’s Separated At Birth these two bags can be literally considered peas from the same pod. What do you think? More importantly, which do you prefer?

I’m a Kate Spade fan, but I have to say LV has the better design.
Kate for sure. If I were getting a LV, I’d want something way more timeless.
I like LV’s version more. Kate looks like a cheap copy, bleah.
The price of LV is getting ridiculous… (this one is not too bad though) that’s why I’ll go for Kate’s version.
Kate Spade for the cheap + chic appeal. Although I’ve gone a bit off Kate Spade since that other 27-year-old made it infamous.
LOL! Tin Pei Ling is that you?
I’ll go for LV!
I’ll go for the KS! The shape of the seems yo fit the print much better. Makes me yearn to go the beach and catch some ray…
I’ll go with Kate Spade. I don’t know why but I am so drawn to green, yellow, orange and red lately.
For something fun and seasonal like that, I’d go for the KS. Really loving the vintage vibe!
